Scott E. Schaffer has over twenty-five years of labor and employee relations experience.
Prior to forming Schaffer Law in January 2005, Scott held senior human resource positions with International Paper Company, Schlumberger Ltd, and The Stanley Works, where he headed the company’s labor and employee relations function. He also worked at the law firm of Murtha Cullina LLP representing clients in a wide variety of workplace matters.
Scott holds a BA, cum laude, in Economics from St. Lawrence University, as well as a MSBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Massachusetts, Isenberg School of Management. He received his JD, with high honors, from the University of Connecticut, School of Law, where he was an editor of the Connecticut Law Review. He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut and Florida.
Scott is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Society of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut, Labor Employment Relations Association, and the West Hartford and Canton Chambers of Commerce.
He writes on a wide range of employment issues and his articles have been published in the Connecticut Law Review, Connecticut Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Quarterly, HR Communicator, and Chamber News. |
